The hip joint’s primary responsibility is to support your body weight when you are engaged in dynamic movements and when you are standing still. In fact, the hip joints are the key components in your ability to retain balance. Hip pain, or any pain in or around the hip joint, can generate from the hip itself or from any of the numerous structures that surround the hip. Additionally, hip pain can be referred from the low back. Hip joint pain is usually reported in the front or side of the hip while low back pain is felt in the buttocks.
